Year 8's Unforgettable Day Trip to Boulogne, France!
44 lucky students kicked off their adventure with a scenic coach ride to the ferry port. From the ferry, they enjoyed breathtaking views of the iconic white cliffs of Dover. Upon arrival in France, they explored the enchanting walled town of Boulogne, where they practiced their French speaking skills in the local shops and restaurants, followed by a quick game of basketball before heading to their next destination.
After exploring the heart of Boulogne-sur-Mer, our students visited a local artisan bakery, diving deeper into French culture.
They watched a live demonstration by the bakery owner, all in French, and even got hands-on by making their own bread. The bakery owners were impressed by our students efforts, rewarding them with a delicious freshly baked Pain Au Chocolat!
After savouring delicious treats at a French bakery, our students ended their French journey at the local snail farm, L’Escargotière du Choquel. After an enlightening presentation, a few brave souls sampled snails in various sauces. Our judges’ favourites? Cheese and tomato, just ahead of garlic butter!
Finally, our French explorers settled down back on the coach, ready for a long journey back home where their parents were awaiting them.
