Silver Success: A Journey Through the Chilterns

Well done to the 15 Year 10's for passing their Silver DofE expedition. What a great achievement. The expedition itself involved four nights camping and 6 days of trekking across two hilly locations in the Chilterns.

It was a difficult challenge. Students had to carry everything they needed - including tents - as well as navigate over miles of countryside. On the first night temperatures went down to -2! Throughout, Assessors put students through their paces and made it clear that a pass would have to be earned.

It was great to see this group come together. In the evenings, despite the cold, everyone got together for a chat (and thanks to Sofia a yoga session!?). We even managed to get a BBQ in. On the second trip, teamwork during the treks we're spot on.

Overall, not only did they pass their challenge, but they also did their parents and school proud. The instructors really enjoyed working with them. They conducted themselves brilliantly, worked hard and were a real pleasure to manage. Well done.
