On a rainy day at Brunel University, Year 10 GCSE students participated in their athletics moderation day, filled with anticipation and determination despite the wet conditions. The event, crucial for their final grades, saw students demonstrating their skills in various track and field events.

The weather did little to dampen their spirits. They performed admirably, adhering to the guidelines and supporting each other through every race, jump, and throw. Their enthusiasm and discipline were commendable, reflecting their commitment to achieving high marks in their GCSEs. They were a credit to Westgate.

A highlight of the day was an unexpected encounter with Linford Christie, the legendary British sprinter, and several other elite athletes who were training at the facility. Christie, took a moment to offer words of encouragement and pose for photos, leaving the students starstruck and motivated.

Overall a positive, great day for all.
