Finding Inspiration Through London Museums and Street Art

The Art department recently took our Sixth Form Art students on an inspiring trip to London to aid them in their personal investigations. Their first stops were to the Natural History Museum and the V&A, where students had the opportunity to study and photograph a diverse range of artwork from around the world, as well as explore various natural forms.

Next, they visited the vibrant street art scene near Waterloo station. The artwork was incredible, with new pieces constantly appearing as different artists leave their mark. They were even lucky enough to see a Banksy piece. The tunnel walls, including the ceiling, were completely covered in spray art, featuring a dynamic mix of portraits, words, patterns, and comic-style fonts.

Afterward, they explored the urban energy of Soho and Leicester Square, immersing themselves in the bustling city life.

The students thoroughly enjoyed the day, which provided valuable inspiration and support for their final portfolio projects.
