Exploring the Heart of UK Finance at the Bank of England

Our Year 12 students embarked on an educational trip to the Bank of England in London. This visit provided a unique opportunity to delve into the history and function of one of the world’s oldest central banks.

Upon arrival students were able to tour the museum where the explored exhibits on the banks role in maintaining money and financial stability, highlights included holding a bar of gold and interactive displays on inflation and interest rates.

The trip also includes information on the history of the bank of England, covering such topics as monetary policy, inflationary pressures and the banks’ role on supporting commercial banks, all preparing them for the Personal and Business finance unit which they will study in year 2.
